6 Ways to recharge your batteries after a long day


Self-care is one of the most important aspects of your business. Take a break, relax and rejuvenate at least once a week. Here are a few tips to help you "recharge your batteries" after a long day:

Bath

Run some hot water, burn some scented candles, turn off the lights and turn on some Sade…or whatever you like. Up the ante and a luxury touch to your bath! Since bubble products are considered to “unhealthy” for your skin, try adding natural products such as Milk or Honey which will leave your skin for soft. The Milk and honey exfoliates your skin, leaving it silky and smooth. How to take a milk and honey bath:

Pour 1-2 cups of milk (or 1/2 c. full-fat powdered milk) and 1/2 c. honey under running, warm water.

Meditation

Meditation has been known to reduce stress. There are many forms of meditation that incorporates breathing techniques, mantras, and self-awareness practices. There are many benefits to meditating which include:

  • Lessens stress, fear, loneliness and depression

Spend time outdoors

In fact, according to the study conducted by the University of Michigan, with partners from De Montfort University, James Hutton Institute, and Edge Hill University in the United Kingdom, studies showed that nature walks improved mental health. The study also concluded that taking walks frequently helped curb depression.

Workout

Working out after a long stressful day has its advantages. It will keep you from hitting up “happy hour” and is a healthy alternative to reducing stress. Working out can actually help you sleep better throughout the night.

You will wake up feeling refreshed, rejuvenated and ready to take on the day!

Unplug

I know sometimes it’s hard to put down your electronic devices but giving them up for one day won’t hurt. The idea is to relax, uninterrupted. Turn off all devices in your home, tv, and cell phone included. Read a book or simply do nothing. Enjoy the peace and quiet without any distractions.
